Staff were really good but system is broken, felt that i was moved around just to hit targets. The A& E dept seems to be some sort of Heath Robinson design with no clear instruction of what you should do.
No doctor was on when i arrived so there were patients their from the night shift.
In the end i was seen and told i had an appt at a virtual fracture clinic!!!! What the hell is that, if not a device for controlling waiting times. It turns out it is a secretary telling you that you need to attend a fracture clinic appt. Brilliant.
Attend fracture clinic to be told i need a scan, something that I and the a&e doctor had already worked out but couldnt get from the a&e department so 2 appts to tell me the same thing as the initial diagnosis.
Consultant said need it urgently and to arrange for the next week, spoke to Xray dept who states could be anything up to 4 wks. So i went through wife's vitality membership to organise scan so had 4th person tell me i need a scan.
I think i need a scan but glad the hospital never exceeded any patient waiting times.
Doctors and nurses were all excellent, system absolutely rubbish and designed by committee.
This was probably the best appointment I have ever had - everything was explained to me and I did not feel rushed. I really felt that the doctor listened to me.
Treated with kindness
Very nice doctor I met, seemed to show compassion and care and listened to my concerns.
I was treated with courtesy and efficiency.
Good appointment and professional.
All good thanks
Needs improvement on providing privacy and maitaining confidentjality
There is lack of privacy and lack of confidentiality as A/E Consultant assessing patients in front of other patients sitting nearby even though he apologised for ding so , there is overcrowding and lack of social distancing and can pose high risks of cross infections via droplets. One Nurse put a clean/ sterile tray on the floor . One Nurse put one Nebuliser on the Floor - Not appropriate as per IPC protocol.
Not all heart conditions can be diagnosed by just ECG , Troponin levell, CXR as other heart conditions such as Valvular heart diseases ( stenosis , Aneurysm ,etc could not be detected by above mentioned basic tests.I was irrationally diagnosed with Costochondrtis and was not offered a follow-up appointment to rule out other possible Cardiopulmonary conditions . Queen's Hospital should meet up with CQC requirements and progress from 2 star to be 5 star . In sumum bonum patients health and safety are highly compromised . However, hats off for the great A.bulance service . .
THE SERVICE I RECEIVED WAS OUTSTANDING. THE STAFF WERE VERY CARING AND CONSIDERATE WITH EVERYONE, WHICH I DELIBERATELY OBSERVED. I TRULY LEFT HOSPITAL WITH A GLOWING REPORT FOR ALL SERVICES CONCERNED. I WANTED TO MARK EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE RECEIVED BUT 'VERY GOOD" WAS THE HIGHEST.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR LOOKING AFTER ME.
